Chris Shahmohammadi is a figurative artist based in Columbia, Maryland. His drawings focus on line and the figure, which are confined within the borders of each piece, allowing the viewer to experience the crowded sensibility of the figures. An implied narrative in the ambiguous poses creates a vulnerable nature that allows the viewer to develop their own understanding. His use of line enforces the simplicity of the forms, and also draws upon his love of classical drawing and the use of graphic symbols to create a complex composition. Shahmohammadi enrolled at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts after high school and is expected to graduate with a BFA in drawing in May of 2016. Learn more
